This Is Me (2023)
Please read carefully. There are a lot of tracks here and you need to make sure that you learn the right ones. Below is the full performance.

this is me full voicing.mp3 | |
File Size: | 5818 kb |
File Type: | mp3 |
Baritone is the only straight forward part.

The soprano and alto voicing on "This is Me" is challenging. In places, the treble parts are just Soprano and Alto. It divides to 3 part treble in two locations. At the end of the song, there is a treble voice descant that is in an additional three parts. Sopranos should be prepared to sing the top and middle voices of the three way split AND the top and middle voices of the descant. Altos should be prepared to sing the middle and the bottom voices of the three way split AND the middle and bottom voices of the descant.

The 3 way split happens in measures 40-71. The clip below is ONLY the low voice treble for that section.

Descant tracks: This is recorded with all three voices separated. It is only the segment that starts in measure 81.

Guest conductor notes.
Kyrie - Measure 7 will be all altos....not a solo. Meas. 15 all baritones...Meas. 23 all sopranos. I'm looking for an oboist or Flute player for the instrumental part. If we know of any really good HS players, please let me know. Thistle - I would like a soloist for the beginning. We can listen to students at the festival. Students who audition should have it memorized. I need two percussionists (hand drum and snare drum). Again, I'd love to use students who are in the chorus if we have any who are capable. If not, I'll be hoping we have two directors who can handle the part. Shoshone - We will use "He" throughout lyric-wise. This is Me - I would like a soloist for the first verse (same instructions as Thistle above). Solo will return at measure 71. Throughout the song I'll most-likely have sopranos divide and altos take the bottom note, since I'm assuming that will work out best. Please have sopranos prepare both parts. I would like a trio of singers could can sing the small group section from meas. 81 to the end. A baritone could easily handle the bottom notes so it could be an SAB trio. |
